Vectura Management Platform

Vectura Management Platform (VMP) is a Network Management and Network Element Management suite of solutions that allows efficient operation of networks that have Vectural Line products or not.
The VMP management solutions may be totally or partially applied to the network, according to what the operator wishes, and each of its elements can be integrated to an existing network management system through its upper interface (“north bound”). The use of mediation modules in VMP architecture is easy to integrate through the mapping of objects, facilitated by the use of SOA architecture, for instance.

The VMP management solutions allow an integrated view of the network and can be broken down into the functional areas of Fault, Configuration, Provisioning, Performance, and Accounting through specific software modules.

Fault Management can receive fault information of all Vectura Line elements and other equipment, make the correlation of the events and present them in an integrated manner. From the higher level alerts it is possible to integrate with other management systems of the operator, in a hierarchical and optimized management structure.

The Configuration Management allows the alteration of the attributes of the network elements, adjusting them for the execution of their function. VMP allows the integrated configuration management, when different network elements are involved in a certain topology. Thus, when media gateways VIA and VSS gatekeeper make part of the network, there is the advantage of integrated configuration.

The Provisioning Management allows the alteration of attributes associated with the service provision to subscribers, acting on a network topology  that is has already been set up by the Configuration Management. It has interfaces with the operator’s BSSs and OSSs, allowing the massive or individual load of subscribers’ data, change them or delete them. Both the Configuration Management and the Provisioning Management of the VMP have persistence features, that is, if an action is not concluded due to unavailability of a network element, the VMP keeps on trying until the action is conclude.

The Performance Management makes it possible to view the quality of the services offered and the commitment of the network element resources involved. It may also generate alerts for the Fault Management, in case a monitored parameter exceeds the limits that indicate end-to-end service degradation. The Performance Management acts based on the monitoring of internal variables of the equipment and the collection and analysis of usage data (xDRs and network signaling information), in real time and off-line. Based on these sources, it is possible to observe the tendencies, monitor the key performance indicators (KPI) of the business or proceed with the multidimensional analysis of statistical variables.

The Accounting Management encompasses the functions of UDRs (Usage Data Records) generation, through the several elements of the Vectura Line, their safe storage, and the reliable management mechanisms of information transfer. It is possible to make the subsequent storage in a relational database for auditing purposes, allowing the immediate recovery of detailed data.

The Performance Management Module of VMP suite has Business Intelligence tools (Vectura Performance Analyzer – VPA)  with flexibility to adapt to any source of data. It can be applied to telephony networks, data communication, IPTV, Contact Centers, and analysis of SMS traffic or any other system that generates usage data (UDRs). Data are enriched by additional configurable tables or through the access to the operator’s  OSS or BSS database, adding new information and building a MOLAP (Multi-dimensional On-Line Analytical Processing) cube, which allow the multi-dimensional analysis of all relevant parameter of the business. In addition to the investigative analysis of the network, interconnection, and user’s behavior, the tool allows the monitoring of the key performance indicators (KPI) through a dashboard (preview pane in real time), with graphics and alert by thresholds, enabling the monitoring of critical situations and tendency analysis.
